Progress in the next decade is critical to build out the U.S. offshore wind supply chain. With the right mix of policies that start today, we can make offshore wind a cornerstone of the transition to a zero emission economy, creating jobs, improving grid reliability, and keeping electricity affordable. <\/span><span class=\"\">This report shows that over 4,000 gigawatts (GW) of offshore wind potential is available along the U.S. coastline, including the Great Lakes, which could greatly complement our onshore resources such as solar and wind to help us achieve a 95% clean electricity grid by 2050 without substantially impacting wholesale electricity costs. <\/span><span class=\"\">Increasing ambition for offshore wind development could inject up to $1.8 trillion of investment into the U.S. economy and employ up to 390,000 workers in the sector in
